About
This homeschool course introduces the American Saddlebred horse in clear, kid-friendly language. Learners will explore how this American breed developed, why its smooth gaits helped riders travel, and what makes its body, movement, and personality special. The course also explains the difference between three-gaited and five-gaited Saddlebreds, modern riding activities, and Kentucky’s connection to horse history. Facts are based on information from the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association and related horse-care resources. By the end, learners can recognize key Saddlebred traits and describe why this breed matters in American horse history.
