This course introduces homeschool learners to the Yakutian Horse, a hardy breed from northeastern Siberia. Students learn how the breed’s thick winter coat, compact build, and careful use of food help it live through very cold weather. They also explore the horse’s place in Sakha life, winter water sources, and the permafrost landscapes of the Yakutia region. The course uses simple language and distinguishes well-supported breed facts from exciting claims that scientists are still studying.
