About
This homeschool course introduces children to Gypsy Horses, also called Gypsy Vanners, through their history, breed traits, and connection to traveling communities in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Learners will study the horse’s feathered legs, strong build, colors, and friendly character, along with the Shire, Clydesdale, and Dales Pony breeds that influenced its development. The course uses respectful language when discussing Irish Travellers and other traveling people, explores the art of decorated vardos, and explains what breed registries do. Activities include observation, drawing, map work, and short written responses.
